Building software for real-world, problems we live with

We're a Sri Lankan product company. We build digital platforms for the problems we run into ourselves — then keep building the next one. It starts with the everyday frustrations of life here, and a stubborn belief that software can make them smaller.

Who we are

From client work to products of our own

Innovibyte began as a software development company building for clients. That work taught us how to ship — properly, on real deadlines, for real users. Somewhere along the way we kept running into the same thought: the problems we most wanted to solve were the ones we went home to every evening.

So we changed course. We're a product company now, building a growing line of platforms for the Sri Lankan market. We pick problems we understand personally, build the smallest version that genuinely helps, put it in front of real people, and keep iterating.

On The Way and Softlexa are the first two platforms we've taken on. They won't be the last.

  • End-to-end product work

Research, design, engineering, and launch — we build digital platforms the whole way through.

  • Problems we know first-hand

Every product starts with a daily, local frustration and a clear gap that software can close.

  • Affordability first

Everyday usefulness over buzzwords. We'd rather under-promise and ship.

What we're building

Products in the making

We're a product company at heart. These are the platforms we're building right now — the first of many. Each one takes a routine frustration of Sri Lankan life and makes it cost less: in money, in time, or in worry.

On The Way

Peer-to-peer ridesharing for Sri Lanka

The problem

Sri Lanka's roads are full of private cars carrying mostly empty seats, while the buses beside them are packed past comfort. With diesel at record prices — 458 LKR per litre — drivers carry the full cost of every trip alone, and commuters carry the discomfort. Both sides lose, every single day.

Our answer

On The Way connects drivers who have empty seats with passengers heading the same direction. It isn't a taxi service — drivers are hosts sharing a route they were already taking, and the fuel cost is split fairly and automatically. Drivers recover their costs; passengers ride in comfort for a fraction of a taxi fare.

How it works

  1. 1
    Set your route

Enter your start and end points on the map.

  2. 2
    Get matched

We find drivers and passengers already travelling your way.

  3. 3
    Share the ride

Meet up, ride together, and split the cost automatically.

For passengers

  • Up to 60% cheaper than taxis or tuk-tuks for a daily commute.
  • A guaranteed seat in a private car instead of a crowded bus.
  • Pickups along the route — you join the driver's existing journey.

For drivers

  • Recover fuel costs on trips you were making anyway.
  • Not a taxi job — you're a host sharing your route with neighbours and colleagues.
  • Automatic fair pricing, calculated from distance. No haggling.

Built-in safety, not bolted on

  • Verified users

Drivers are vetted with licence, insurance, and vehicle photo checks before their first ride.

  • Live trip sharing

Share your trip location with family or friends in real time, for every ride.

  • Circles of trust

Ride within networks you already belong to — office colleagues, campuses, alumni groups.

  • Mutual ratings

Drivers and passengers rate each other after every trip, both ways.

Softlexa

A marketplace for Sri Lankan freelancers

Sri Lanka has no shortage of talented designers, developers, and writers — what's missing is a marketplace built around how they actually work and get paid. Softlexa is our answer in progress: a Fiverr-style platform connecting local freelancers with businesses here and abroad.

Honest status: this one is still on the drawing board. We're interviewing freelancers now — if that's you, we'd genuinely like to talk.
